Being seated at a desk all day can restrict blood flow to important parts of the body, can cause cramps in muscle areas and be a cause of bad posture which in itself may result in long term damage to back muscles and even the spine. Some studies have also show that productivity increased by up to 10% when people use a standing desk.

In addition to the benefits of a standing desk not only being favourable to your health, it is also aesthetically pleasing.  History shows that in the 18th and 19th centuries, standing desks were not only common, but popular in both homes and in work places.  It is not uncommon these days to walk into an Technology Shop such as Apple to be greeted by staff at Standing Desks, as this type of layout is not only space saving with the absence of chairs, but also trendy. Another not so obvious benefit of a standing desk in the workplace is the quick turn over of customers, who don’t have a cozy chair to sit and chat.

They come in different styles and variations, diferent heights and different models, such as a sit-stand desk which can adjust between both sitting and standing. The choices are endless for any person opting for a standing desk.
